Color & Story Class Exercises

A painting completed by only using two complimentary colors (blue & orange). Oh, and white of course.

We were supposed to tell two different stories. The first square's emphasis is on the kids (due to a contrast of value). The second square focuses on the monkeys (due to a contrast of saturation). The last square is what the picture looks like if everything is the same saturation and value.

This was an exercise based on colored lines. A color can change depending on what it's next to. So in the first block the same colored line but its value changes based on the background. The second block uses the same colored line but its saturation changes based on the background. The last block uses two different colors but their environments make them look like they are the same.
